1. The project that I am working on is to create an affordable house for people who have lost their homes in horrible natural disasters. I am building the house for the client and he has approved the designs.

The United States Assassination of Bin Laden and discussion Q's

I woke up monday morning went down stairs for my morning breakfast and found out that a group of USA navy seals dropped down from an airplane to capture the notorious Osama Bin Laden, and in the process of the capture they had to kill bin laden one of his wive's and one of his sons. It was very tragic but at the same time a relief to American citizens to know the cruel terrorist behind the november eleven airline crash into the twin towers and the pentagon is finally received his car-ma or justice. His body was dropped off into the ocean near american soil.
When I first found out about the airplane crash in New York I was in first grade and didn't really know how to react. My parents you could say acted for me with sorrow for those who died and are missing. I also didn't go to school that day because it was history in the making and a day to morn the death of thousands and a horrific tragedy in new york and that would scare the view of americans and terrorists for the rest of the human race. It also created wars and more soldier dying to find out who committed this source of genocide against the population of the united states of america.
 I believe that the death of a horrible man who killed thousands of americans and innocent bystanders is finally brought to justice and killed symbolizes the final chance to move on and rebuild ground zero and to finally move on from the tragic november eleventh when two airplanes crashed into the twin towers and killed thousands and when another airplane crashed into to the pentagon on a kamikaze corse to conflict pain and sorrow into the minds of every human being that is part of the United States of America.
When I got to school after finding out that on april 24th that the terrorists who streaked fear into the eyes of every american is finally dead it didn't surprise me how happy and joyful and relieved people really where. I was memorized by how many conversations they where talking about bin laden how thank god he's dead, or yippee bin laden is dead and people making songs about it and saying that in cod mw3 a level is about killing bin laden. Lots of people where stoked to know that the can finally move on an the hardship is over and that they can start building the twin towers again because t is a symbol of the nationalism and power that americans have.

Maus-Night Blogging Assignment

In the same way that we discussed how Fallen Angels and Restrepo complemented each other, reflect on how Maus and Night serve as companion pieces. Look for emotional, thematic and literary connections that go beyond superficial similarities (e.g., both are about the Holocaust), and be sure to cite specific examples from both works as you progress towards a recommendation of whether classes should read one or the other or both. This blog entry is worth points 15 points:

Maus is a story of life in the halacaust and the emotional an terrorizing feeling that you feel everday. It is a graphic novel describing a man and his family trying to survive the greatest genocide known to man kind. It talks about love when Vladek meets Anja and sorrow when Richieu dies. I believe that the class should between Night and Maus should read this book because I fell that guys are more intreged by this comic book rather then the full page novel in Night writen by Elie Wiesel.

Night is a book by Elie Wiesel that goes into a little more personal view on the Halaucaust an one 15 year ols life in the death camp Auschwitz. It tell of the horrors and the tragedies that happen everyday as if death was the norm. I believe that if a actual regular class was supposed to choose they should choose to read this book because it helps to fully understand life in detail during the holocaust. I believe that in a group of guys who read this that they should not read this because I believe that guys are more intreged by books life Maus that are comics than books like this that are full page novels.

I belive that Maus and Night are comparative iceces like Fallen Angels and Restrepo because they both talk about life in the holocaust and the death camp Auschwitz. Both books are very different in ho w the go through the average life an Auschwitz but the baseline is the same. They both talk about the arrival to the death camp and the emotionally sad and horrifing seperation from there families. The thought of there families and that they might even be dead was a constant thoguth between both books. Both books put great detail on the average day of hard labor and forceful gaurds who would kill and prisoner just for the fun of it. They both talk about how they had to deal with the gaurds and always do what they are told, and to be in tip top shape when the horrific selections came around. Overall both books are different in there unique singular ways but the topics and the average life in the death camps and the Holocaust are all the same.

1. Lots and lots of men die in the war in both of the stories. In the avalanche scene many men die and in the hill scene in fallen angels many men die.
2. In Restrepo they go on lots of patrols in fallen angels they go on lots of patrols too.
3. In Restrepo they where telling us how imprtant and how dangerous war is and they did the exact same thing in Fallen Angels.
4. Lots of sorrow in war.
5. Many innovcent men die for no apperent reason.
6. We dont really realize how improtant war really is.
7. Lots of close encounters in war.
8. Many men are hurt and slowly die.
9. Even the best men still die for no reasonas in both stories.
10. War is all about close encounters and long and short deaths.




These two stories taught me how important and how dangerous war can be and will always be. It taught me that many men die in war so that people in america can be free. That inoscent men die every day in the war and we americans dont really cherish them at all. This is what I learned from these two war stories.

My first quote is on act 4 scene 3 lines 252 through 254. “Malcolm: Let’s make us medicines of our great revenge to cure this deadly grief. In this quote Macduff’s family has been savagely slaughtered and Malcolm tells Macduff to take it like a man and turn the sorrow into rage and anger towards Macbeth so that he will fight better.

My second quote is on act 5 scene 3 lines 38 through 40. “Macbeth: I’ll fight from my bones my flesh be hacked. Give me my armor.

Seyton: Tis not needed...” In this quote Macbeth knows he needed to fight his enemy like a man and do what a king and a man must do for his country. He is told not to, but he knows if he doesn’t he would be thought of as a coward and not a man.

My third quote is on act 5 scene 3 lines 19 through 20. “ Macbeth: Those linen cheeks of thine are counselors to fear”. In this quote the servant tells Macbeth of how many soldiers there are and that he should just give up, but Macbeth knows that the servant is a coward and a fool to try and give up so he knows that he must fight Malcolm and Macduff.

My fourth quote is on act 5 scene 5 lines 18 through 19. “Macbeth:  Wherefore was that cry?

Sayton: The Queen my lord, is dead

Macbeth: She should have died hereafter.”

In this quote Macbeth finds out that his beloved wife is dead, but he knows that to be a man you must take the sorrows out of life and turn them into anger which u can then use against your opponent.

My fifth and last quote describing how to be a man in the world of Macbeth is on act 5 scene 7 lines 1 through 4. “Macbeth: They have tied me to a stake. I cannot fly, but, bear-like, I must fight the course. What’s he that was not born of woman? Such one am I to fear, or none.” In this quote Macbeth is surrounded in a tower and his enemies are all around him. He knows that a man would fight to the death and a coward would give up, so Macbeth fights the intruders like a man would.

Overall I believe that the quotes I have just stated really give a example for “being a man” in the life of Macbeth.

I believe that the overall them of the book is do too others that you would like to be done too yourself, loyalty is very important and don’t betray them. An example of this is when Odysseus has the suitors trapped and Odysseus said “You Dogs! You never imagined id return to troy so cocksure that you bled my house to death, ravished my serving- women wooed my wife behind my back while I was still alive...” (Page 140 Line: 36-42)Your doom is sealed. The suitors had tried to take Odysseus’s world and like my theme the suitors treated Odysseus like he was dead and Odysseus returned the favor by killing all the people who tried to take away his kingdom.

Another example that goes with my scene is when Penelope waits and waits for the suitors to go away, but eventually her faith pays off and she decides to confront the suitors. “You Antinous Violent, vicious, scheming you, Madman, why do you wave destruction towards Telemachus”. (Page 351 Line: 43-46) In this quote Penelope finds out that the suitors have planned to kill Telemachus so that it will be easier to marry Penelope, but after years of being patient with the suitors her faith pays off and she tells the suitors never to plan the death of Telemachus again and not to betray her ever again.

           

Another example of my version of the books theme is when Odysseus and his crew are stuck on a boat and instead of betraying there captain and loose loyalty because of lack of food and water the keep going and stay loyalty to there mighty captain. “As long as our food and ruddy hold out, the crew, eager to save their lives, kept hands off the herds. (Page 281 Line: 352-353)”. The crew showed loyalty by not killing the valuable herd and not betraying there captain because they knew that the captain and done some much for them so like how they would want to be treated they treated Odysseus with the highest respect and loyalty.

Overall I believe that my theme has to do with the book because throught the book people had betrayed and had to pay for it with there lives. The people that didnt die where the people that didnt betray and have always and will always be loyal good people.
